PrivArk
Privacy by design

Privacy Policy

Your traffic. Your rules. Your privacy. PrivArk helps you control browser proxy routing with local-first processing and clear choices about your data.

Last updated: November 1, 2026No developer-operated tracking

No developer collection

We do not send browsing history or personal data to developer-operated servers.

Local-first processing

Rules, preferences and routing decisions are primarily processed on your device.

You choose services

External DNS, rule subscriptions and proxies are configured by the user.

Our commitment

PrivArk is a Chrome extension for user-controlled proxy routing. It is designed to minimize unnecessary exposure of browsing information while giving users control over routing rules, proxy settings and DNS diagnostics.

We do not collect, upload, sell or monetize users’ personal information or browsing history through developer-operated servers. PrivArk does not include developer-operated advertising trackers, behavioral analytics or user profiling services.

Information processed on your device

To perform its functions, PrivArk may process the following information locally:

  • Request hostnames and routing decisions used to select direct or proxy connections.
  • User-defined rules, downloaded rule lists, and proxy configuration.
  • Proxy authentication credentials provided by the user.
  • DNS query results, diagnostic results, cache entries and interface preferences.

PrivArk does not need you to register an account or supply personal profile information to its developer. Processing information locally is not the same as never processing information.

Local storage and security

PrivArk uses extension storage and IndexedDB to keep settings, rules, caches and related data on your device. Sensitive stored configuration is protected using local encryption where supported by the extension.

These protections reduce exposure from local storage but do not guarantee anonymity or protection against an already compromised device, browser profile, operating system or other installed software.

When a PAC routing policy is published to Chrome, the browser may access that policy as part of applying proxy routing. PAC contents should not be assumed to have the same confidentiality as encrypted local records.

Connections to services you choose

Certain features necessarily contact external services selected or configured by the user:

  • DNS-over-HTTPS: the selected DNS provider may receive queried domain names, connection metadata and the source IP address.
  • Rule subscriptions: the rule-list host may receive a request for the list, the source IP address and ordinary connection metadata.
  • Proxy servers: the configured proxy provider may process or observe network traffic and connection metadata according to its service and applicable protections.

PrivArk does not operate these services on their behalf. Their handling of data is subject to their respective privacy practices.

Important: “No developer data collection” does not mean that DNS, rule-list or proxy providers receive no data when you use those services.

Your choices and data retention

  • Enable or disable proxy routing whenever you choose.
  • Choose and change your DNS provider, proxy server and rule subscriptions.
  • Edit or remove locally stored routing rules and configurations.
  • Clear DNS and routing caches from the extension settings.
  • Uninstall PrivArk to remove extension-managed local data according to Chrome’s storage behavior.

Locally stored information remains until you change, clear or remove it, subject to Chrome and device storage behavior. Third-party service retention is controlled by those providers.

Important limitations

PrivArk is a routing control tool, not a guarantee of anonymity. It cannot prevent all forms of tracking, hide all browsing activity from every service, or control what other extensions, the browser, the operating system or network providers can observe.

The privacy benefit depends in part on which proxy, DNS and rule subscription providers you select.

Policy updates and questions
